Excellent B&B, recommend wholeheartedly. Excellent location to just park the car and forget about it for the duration of the stay and enjoy the surrounding nature. The room is very clean and well looked after. Beautiful open space in front of the entrance and one can sit on the terrace and enjoy the sunset on the garden and the trees. Impeccable breakfast area with great choice, for lovers of either full English or continental options. The owner has been great and very helpful in advising on some wonderful walks.

We decided to stay based on the perfect reviews online and it definitely didn't disappoint! When our hosts Mark and Shauna found out we were on our honeymoon they graciously gifted us with a bottle of champagne. Everything was outstanding, the location, the room, the cleanliness and especially the hosts. We definitely recommend.

Just returned from our second visit to Curbar Hillside B&B and there's only one word needed to sum up this place, EXCEPTIONAL. Mark is quite possibly the nicest host we have ever come across. Alot of people within the industry could learn a thing or two from him! The rooms are immaculate, Mark is a perfectionist so you know what you get is going to be of 5* quality. Rooms are spacious and decorated to a high standard, no expense has been spared here and the passion really shows through. Location wise its spot on, nowhere is too far away. Lovely places to eat on your door step and some wonderful walks with breathtaking sights. This is not your average B&B, this place is in a league of its own. The breakfasts, wow! Full English, pancakes, omelettes, poached egg on toast. Everything is on offer, I'm sure you could have it all in one sitting and Mark wouldn't mind one bit. Nothing is too much trouble. Like the B&B Mark is not your average host. He's like a friend you never knew you had. Incredibly friendly and loves to tell a story, my husband and I would happily spend an entire day chatting to him, we'd never get bored! He's also like a human tourist information centre, don't know what to do or where to go? Ask Mark and he'll give you a long list. He knows the Peak District inside out! My husband and I have been to celebrate our 1st and 2nd wedding anniversary here and the special touch of a bottle of fizz and a card each time has been wonderfully received, we didn't even get that from the hotel we stayed in at Castleton for our honeymoon! Like I said, Mark goes above and beyond. Love wildlife then you'll love it here, and if you're lucky you might see a badger or two after dark. You'll see the resident ducks on the lawn each day and you may even see Mark chasing a squirrel away if they dare to come near his little friends! Last year saw us returning to the Peak District when Covid meant our trip to Vegas for our 1st wedding anniversary was cancelled. The plan was to do Vegas on another anniversary but now we think we'll continue to return here as its becoming a bit of a tradition. We have said that next time we might bring the children, we feel like we want Mark to meet the family! We didn't see his lovely wife Shauna this time, but behind every good man is a great woman and am sure she plays a big part in the running of this gem of a place. We love it here and can't wait to return. We're still planning on doing Vegas one year but we're thinking we might take Mark with us, he can cook us breakfast and be our tourist guide!
